French Breakfast Puffs

I have never made this recipe. It sounded so interesting when I saw it. I cut it out of a magazine put it away and never made it. I figure anything thats rolled in butter then cinnamon sugar has got to be awesome.

  1. Cream together the shortening, sugar, and egg.
  2. Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and nutmeg.
  3. Add the milk to the creamed mixture and mix with the flour mixture.
  4. Fill greased muffin cups half-full. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  5. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in microwave. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the puffs in the melted butter, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
