Black Bean Dessert from Peru


  1. Soak beans in water overnight.
  2. Cook beans in water until soft and well done.
  3. Force through a strainer.
  4. In a medium pan place bean puree.
  5. add milk, sugar, cinnamon and cloves.
  6. Take to medium heat stirring constantly until thickened and the bottom of the pan can be seen.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Take out cinnamon sticks and cloves.
  9. Stir in 1 tablespoon of sesame seed.
  10. Transfer to a bowl and sprinkle with seasme seeds.

What a different taste. Still not quite sure if I like it or not, thus the 4 stars. Truly, I think a little bit of lemon or lime juice would enhance the flavor somewhat. !Que rico! This recipe is delicious, and a real comfort food too, despite being comparatively healthful. I used a blender for the beans since I'm too lazy to sieve them.
