Freida Lou's Brownies

"This recipe is from my cousin and I didn't realize I've had this recipe for 20 years. This makes an 8 X 8 pan and almost everyone I've given the recipe to advised that the pan only makes it out of the oven and never really gets to completely cool before all the brownies disappear!"

  1. These were tasty, but mine didn't really taste very chocolaty, and were kind of pale. I'm pretty sure I measured everything right?? I loved the texture though, so I'd just add more cocoa next time. It'd be super tasty with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. :) Made for your week 2 Football Pool win 2009.

  2. These are WONDERFUL brownies. My DH who really does not like brownies even asked me to make these again! Mine also took about 12 minutes more to get done than the time suggested. I frosted these with a mocha tinged chocolate icing and mine pan has one lone piece in for Dh's lunch tomorrow. Thanks for this wonderfully easy ( I was sondering how they would rise with no leavening but rise they did!) and tasty recipe. It's a keeper!

  3. Sherrybeth, My SO and I want to thank you for such a great tasting brownie.I followed the recipe exactly and wasn't disappointed at all in the taste or the texture.I did however, have to bake them for about 15 more minutes to get them done in the middle. But it just might be my oven. This will be made again, thank you very much for posting.
