I tried this out with fresh squeezed oranges and lemons and it was FABULOUS!!!! I used 4 naval oranges and 2 lemons to get the measurements, but it was well worth the effort for the authentic flavors. I couldn't believe something so simple tasted SO amazing!!! Definintely a recipe for the books, so THANKS!

Lovely!!! I used half a package of orange Jello and omitted the sugar. It turned the ice cream a beautiful orange. I also zested the (organic) orange and added the zest when heating the OJ. Would have left it in but my kids wouldn't like that, so I poured it through a sieve to remove the zest pieces. Used my ice cream maker. We had it with chocolate syrup ;-) This totally was the orange ice cream I was looking for, thank you for this delicious recipe!

This was the kind of frozen dessert my mom loved making, & this one is every bit as nice tasting as hers was! I stuck with the sugar this time, but might just try the Splenda another time to check out the difference, if any! GREAT TASTE, & thanks for sharing!
