The mircrowave version of this didn't work the best for me either- though I do like it on the stovetop (increasing the liquid to 2 cups)
This didn't really work from the freezer, but as another user suggested, it may be great to just make it without freezing.
I don't really like this recipe from the freezer so instead I make up little baggies of the dry ingredients then when I want rice I just take one bag and add the Water and nuke it. I love the flavor!
It may just be me, but this didn't work out for me at all. The rice didn't coook the way it should.
