As much as I love the aroma of a fireplace, bonfire, or our woodburning stove, I also love to throw in a few herbal fire bundles once in a while. Make Valentine's Day more romantic, spice it up in the fall, or try different herbs for a Christmasy feel. It's relaxing, and a nice way to fragrance your home the natural way. And in Native American tradition, sage bundles are very cleansing to your surroundings.
- You can use others, but these tend to have the most beautiful fragrance.
- Tie together herbal stems with natural raffia and toss into the fireplace for a soothing, inviting herbal fragrance for your home.
This is an excellent way to use fall herb cuttings! I worked for an herbalist about 6 years ago and I remember Country Home & Garden doing an article on her Herbal Fireside Bundles. As you explain, it is a great way to fill your home with the scent of herbs. Excellent idea/recipe - glad to see it posted here for people to enjoy.
