Fragrant Basmati Rice

This has saffron and some other nice spices with some red pepper for a little zing. This is from a cookbook in my pre-Zaar days so I'm afraid I don't know which one.

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, and stir.
  3. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let rice stand 5 minutes.

Lovely!!! Such a marvelous aroma and a very pretty color too...and it tastes terrific. Had this with grilled shrimp and a mango and onion salad. Yum!
