Fourth of July Baked Beans

"These beans are wonderful for anytime of the year not just the 4th of July. Perfect for picnics,church suppers,reunions or just any night of the week. I love to have them with my macaronni salad."

  • Mix all together.
  • Pour into 8 X 8 baking dish.
  • Lay bacon across the top.
  • Bake at 350* until bacon is brown and beans are bubbly.

  1. My husband said this was the best item on our Fourth of July table. But I made a couple adjustments, which I think affected that. I fried the bacon before putting it on top of the beans. That way, I could remove most of the fat from the dish. I also cut each bacon slice in half, so there was a separate bacon piece for each serving. The baking time with the bacon precooked was 1 hour.
     
  2. Great baked beans, loved the flavor and the ease of preparation. Made half the recipe for the two of us and we cleaned the bowl. Had these as a side to baked bbq chicken and mac & cheese. Thanks for posting.
