  1. Mix together the dry ingredients.
  2. Cut in the shortening until small balls form.
  3. Stir in 1/2 c water and mix well with hands. Add the rest of the water and knead well.
  4. Let dough rest 30 minute.
  5. Pour 2" of oil into frying pan and preheat to 350°F.
  6. Divide into 4 balls and flatten each into 6" circles.
  7. Fry until golden brown.
