• In a large bowl, stir together the flour, salt, sugar, yeast, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, basil and black pepper. Mix in the vegetable oil and water.
 • When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead until smooth and elastic. Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl, and turn to coat with oil. Cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.
 • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Punch dough down; place on greased baking sheet. Pat into a 1/2 inch thick rectangle. Brush top with olive oil. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
 • Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.

 1. We do love focaccia bread but usually get it from the store! However, with this recipe, (&, I'll admit, a couple of others I've tried), I'm now prepared to have it homemade! This bread of yours is most satisfying & I really enjoyed making it, even though just the 2 of us managed to devour most of it in one sitting ~ We really do need to pace ourselves with things like this! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in this fall's round of Pick A Chef]

 2. This is very good! I have to make myself stop eating it right out of the oven! I do the dough in the machine. I bake at a lower temperature now, otherwise I need to cover it with foil. Makes awesome paninis.

I don't like to eat the same thing more than a couple of times a month, so I tend to experiment.?
