These are also from Cuba. I like them as a side with of course, melted butter and salt.

  1. Beat egg with a fork; blend in the water.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, stir, allow to thicken 10 minutes.
  3. Form into balls the size of a walnut.
  4. Drop into a large pot of rapicly boiling salted water.
  5. Cover tightly, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Drain and serve in soup, stew or as a side dish with meats and poultry.

these were delish!!! very germanic, tasted like my mom's potato dumplings which were my Oma's recipe. I sliced the leftovers in half and browned them in butter the next day!!! an easier way to make Oma's potato dumplings.
