Great taste. We liked this one. Remember to stir occasionally. I found my chicken sticking together. Second time I made this I tried the stir-fry approach. Cooked the chicken about 2 hours then added some frozen snow peas, onions & mushrooms. Served over rice with egg rolls on the side. My husband loves this and there's always enough for lunch the next day.
Too sweet for our taste.
This was very good. I suggest changing the recipe name though. It's really a sweet -and-sour type of sauce. I had to substitute lemon and lime juice for the Sprite, and Worchestshire sauce for the soy sauce. These worked well. I think it was a bit over done after 3 hours in the crockpot on high. Next time I'll try 2.5 hours. Thanks for posting. DH loved it.
This was very easy and good. My son cleaned his plate. I was in a hurry and looking for a recipe that I had all of the ingredients for. This was it. I cut the chicken breasts while frozen and put them in the crockpot frozen. I added the other ingredients except for the soy sauce (just added a tsp of salt). I also added 3 cups of frozen stir-fry vegetables. After 3 hours on high, I served the chicken & vegetables over corkscrew noodles (b/c I was out of rice, lol) anyway... very good flavor. Thank you Bec
I'm sorry, but we weren't wild about this one. I am giving it 3 stars because it certainly is easy and relatively quick (for a crock pot recipe). However we found it too spicy and too sweet at the same time. I used only about 2/3 cup of brown sugar, but it was still too sweet. DD kept whining about the vinegar and DH about the sugar! It wasn't bad, just not to our tastes.
What a great crockpot meal! So easy! I cut up the chicken first, and before serving added the stir fry veggies. It definitely has a chinese flair, so it was great over white rice.
Really, REALLY good... smelled fantastic while cooking! I substituted Coke in place of the lemon-lime. Also added some sliced mushrooms, bamboo shoots, & water chestnuts during the last hour. It took about 2 Tablespoons of cornstarch to thicken (might be because of the extra veggies). The dish turned out fabulous; will DEFINITELY make it again! :)
WE liked this and it was easy to prepare. I used 1/2 pepper and that was just right for us.
