Kind of mixed this with Alejandro's recipe. I loved the use of sofrito, but I will leave the capers out next time. Carole of Orlando

  1. Heat 3 tablespoons.
  2. oil in skillet on medium, brown meat on all sides.
  3. Remove from skillet.
  4. Add remaining oil to skillet, stir in garlic, onion and green pepper and cook until translucent.
  5. Stir in black pepper, browned meat, tomato sauce, water& sofrito.
  6. Simmer until meat is tender and shreds easily, about 1 hour.
  7. Add capers midway.
