My mom and grandmother used to make this salad. I was very glad to see it posted. I made it the other day for a church event. A very beautiful array of colors and textures. A delicious, sweet, creamy taste. Easy and a crowd pleaser. Thanks BarbaraK.

Loved this. Comfort food from days gone by. Very easy to make. I make it ahead of time and add the toasted pecans and marshmallows shortly before serving.

Great recipe! I toasted the pecans and added them to each serving as others suggested. I didn't add coconut since I'm the only one that likes it, but I added a couple of bananas. My very picky 11 year old granddaughter helped make it, and she turned her nose up at the sour cream, but even she really enjoyed this recipe. Thanks!

This is the recipe I have been looking for! Grew up with this being served at Grandmother's every special dinner. Never found the recipe that was just right till this one! Who knew - Sour Cream! Amazing! It made our Easter meal extra special ! Thanks for posting! (hint: pecans can get soft if there happen to be any leftovers)

I had this salad for the first time at my Mom's house last week. I talked her into adding marischino cherries and believe me, the cherries do make a difference. This is such a simple salad, but tastes like an exotic dessert. Toasted pecans should be sprinkled on top of each serving because they get soggy-chewy mixed in the salad. They are really nasty if you have left-overs.

This was very easy and so good!! I didn't add the cherries but you didn't miss them. I also added 4-6 tablespoons of Fat-free Cool whip. It was excellent! My 19 month old had 3 servings!

This salad has been around our house for years. I usually fix it for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Actually when DD was young she would make it and it was her contribution to family dinner. Do everything just like the recipe says except I don't put in the sugar at the end.

I made this to have with Easter dinner. I used the pastel colored mini marshmallows for a springtime look. Everyone loved it. My mother wants the receipe; my 12 year old son wants me to make it again...today.
