Excellent. Quick, easy, delicious. I served with salsa, guacamole, shredded cabbage and pickled jalapeno slices. My kids topped with shredded cheese. I'm making this again. Thank you.
I joined this site to tell you all how AMAZING this recipe is! I've been using this site for meal planning. Last night I did not feel like cooking. I knew I had frozen cod filets, they had been breaded but not cooked. I was hoping to find an easy way to cook them. This dish did just that with amazing results.
I just let the fish soak up the chili oil a bit. Then, cooked them as usual. WOW. This is a keeper. The fish went like hoecakes, so I'm using some chicken instead tonight. I made homemade tortillas, used lettuce instead if cabbage, and used the taco seasoning off this site since I don't handle MSG well.
It was tasty but tasted too much like the fake taco taste. What else
Could you expect though. Next time would like to try a tequila lime marinade or
Something. I did add lime and
Chipotle but still tasted like
Taco kit. However the family loved it. The toppings were
Wonderful. Thanks very much :)
this was awesome good!
I used tilapia as well, and shredded it up a bit so it was more like taco meat. I also decreased the oil as recommended. This got a thumbs up from the teen girl who likes NOTHING and from the hubby who doesn't care for Mexican food, and absolute raves (and 4 helpings lol) from the boy child who loves anything resembling a taco of any kind. He even asked for the recipe!
Followed directions exactly...can't wait to make again! I love fish but I get tired of the same old, same old. Used tilapia...so yummy!
I LOVE the sour cream sauce, although for two people it made alot. Next time I would half the recipe. I used tilapia, it was a greta choice. My only suggestion is to kick up the heat a bit. I used garlic and chili infused oil, but still needed something. Topped with green cabbage, cheese, avocado, red onion and the sour cream sauce. Overall, it had great flavor and super fast meal to prepare. This was the first time I had ever made fish tacos and my daughter devoured them!! This is definitely a keeper. total prep time for the sauce was 5 minutes or so. and cook time after cutting the fish was only 5 or 6 minutes. SUPER FAST!!
My husband and I just had these for dinner, and they were so delicious. I made quite a few alterations, only because I had another idea in mind for dinner and didn't look up this recipe until I had already started another recipe. So, here's what I did: I made a mango salsa which included 1 chopped mango, 1 chopped tomato, about 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, a couple tablespoons of red onion minced, the juice of 1 lime, and a tsp or two of cumin. To this I added about 1/4-1/2 cup of mayo and the 2 Tbs. taco seasoning. Then I tossed the cubed fish (I used orange roughy) with the rest of the taco seasoning and 1 Tbs. veg. oil and the juice of a lime. **The taco seasoning I used was called Nueva Cocina Chipotle Taco, and it had lots of dried raisins and other delicious and unusual items in it. The combo was incredible! We only added some shredded spinach to top these--so, so yummy! We will definitely have these again :)
Love, love, love these! I asked my dh to give them a try with the cabbage and sauce and he was absolutely thrilled with the combination. Yummy!
Very good and easy! I used catfish and topped with lettuce and salsa. Thanks for sharing!
