Having enjoyed Jans fish pie when we visited her and her DH in Perth, I tried it the way she had done it for us and that was to replace about half the fish with Prawns/Crayfish. I used big prawns and the combination is absolutely delicious. Definitely a winner, thanks for posting Jan

I was given a kg of mullet, and made up this pie. I didnt do the potato top, used crumbs whizzed with butter and cheese. I did the fish in foil with wine, in the oven, it really truned out very well, and a great way to stretch a bit of cooked fish! thanks Jan

This is a lovely recipe. We had smoked salmon to hand amd no capers so we used this. It was a lovely recipe - just rich enough to be a special xmas treat.

Hubby and I absolutely loved this recipe. I didn't put capers in or dill. This one is a keeper.

Yummy, very yummy! Easy to make and very tasty. I added a few bay leaves to the fish when oven cooking it and also a few bay leaves to the onions when sauteing them (left them in the sauce). Also left some out before seasoning for my 1 year old girl, she absolutely loved it!Will definitely be making this again. Thanks Jan!

Thank you Jan - we really enjoyed this. I love meals that fill Dave up! Plus both the girls dug in. I didn't have much fish as only bought enough for the girls then didn't use it so I needed a recipe to use the fish up. Made this exactally as written adding the juices from the cooked fish and only 1/4 cup wine as well as Latchy's suggested additions. Served with a garlic rubbed toast. One for my keeper cookbook!

This was an excellent tasty meal. I also addedd mustard which complemented the sauce. I did not have capers or eggs but maybe will next time

This was really tasty Jan, I did add a teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning to the sauce as well as 1 teaspn of dry mustard, always add mustard to my white sauces, and used some fresh dill as well, not the dry. Hope you don't mind that I had a little play with it, but this is something I will be doing again.
