I got the recipe for this incredibly tasty marinade from a neighbor at a cookout 17 years ago. I haven't found a better marinade for my chicken since then! I use it in baking chicken, but I mostly use it to grill chicken sandwiches, topped with Muenster cheese on a grilled Kaiser roll. Yummy!
- 118.29 ml soy sauce
- 118.29 ml water
- 29.58 ml lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
- 14.79 ml brown sugar
- 29.58 ml salad oil
- 1.23 ml hot sauce (if you like it with a little kick)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1.23 ml ground pepper
- Place chicken in marinade (overnight if possible, turning once).
Yummy! This is delicous! I used it to marinate boneless chicken breasts, then make them into chicken sandwiches on kaiser rolls as suggested. I will try it on BBQ'd chicken this Spring. This time I broiled the chicken breasts. I let the chicken breasts sit in the marinade for about 2 days. They were an ugly color, but very flavorful.
Very juicy and tasty. I used 3 times the lemon because we love it and made one fourth the recipe for 2 breasts (which was way more than enough). I might do even half of that - even with the reduced sodium soy sauce, it does have a fair amount of saltiness.
This was a tasty marinade! I started mine very early in the morning, and that was plenty of time. Tender and moist after grilling, it also had a great flavor! I may try it on a sandwich next time! Thanks for sharing, SuzieQ in Fairfax!
