Wow, even my picky daughter loved this! The proportions came out perfect and I will be using only this recipe when making the Filipino Beef Steak. Although the recipe was excellent just the way it was, I did add about a teaspoon of sugar to the sauce which gave it that extra flavor. Thanks so much for sharing this!

This recipe was a huge hit for a large Filipino gathering. I used lemons since I couldn't find Kalamasi in my area. I also marinated the beef overnight to have one less thing to do on party day. We'll definitely make this recipe again.

This recipe was great! I am not Filipino, but my husband is and I try hard to learn as many of the Filipino dishes as I can. I actually had to improvise a lot and use lemon juice, but it still turned out wonderful! We live in a rather small town and finding kalamansi juice proved to be very difficult! It also turned out that pounding the meat wasn't really necessaryif you pick a nice and tender cut of beef. I tried this recipe 2 times so far and it has yet to fail me! We both absolutely love it!

my picky husband loved this. i followed exactly the same amount of 1/2 dark soy sauce and sub w/ 8 tablespoon bottled lemon juice since that's all i had on hand. husband prefered i separate the boiled sauce left since he liked the marinated beef and onions the way it was. it was perfect to us..but to some who are sodium sensitive..i'd advice you use less soy or lite soy sauce. this will go into our favorites.

Yummy. I only used 1 large onion though. And pounded the meat.
