ingredients
- 4 1⁄4 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 2 cups broken pecans
- 1 -2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1 -2 cup dates (optional)
- 1⁄2 cup dark molasses
- 3⁄4 cup milk
- 1 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 8 ounces orange marmalade or 8 ounces orange rind (thin julienne)
- 1 quart canned fig, crushed
directions
- Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly.
- Mix all liquid ingredients thoroughly.
- Combine and bake.
- Bake@ 350 degrees approximately 1 hour.
