"A fig cake my wife tried and loved I will make it."

• Yields: 12 pieces
• Serves: 6

ingredients

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 teaspoon clove
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
• 1 cup oil or 1 cup butter
• 3 eggs
• 1 tablespoon vanilla
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 cup chopped fig
• 1⁄2 cup chopped pecans (optional) or 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

directions

1. Sift all dry ingredients together.
2. Add oil or the butter mix well.
3. Add vanilla and buttermilk mix well.
4. Add figs and the optional ingredients (if desired).
5. Do Not Grease Pan 9x12.
6. Bake 40 to 45 minute at 325 F.
