Festive Drop Sugar Cookies

"From the Arm & Hammer Baking soda box. This recipe is perfect for time-crunched schedules. The dough can be frozen until you are ready to bake! Be sure to decorate the cookies with the holiday-colored sugar crystals or sprinkles."

ingredients

• 591.47 ml sifted all-purpose flour
• 2.46 ml arm & hammer baking soda
• 1.23 ml salt
• 236.59 ml butter
• 236.59 ml sugar
• 1 egg
• 4.92 ml vanilla extract
• 1.23 ml almond extract
• 29.58 ml milk
• red sugar crystals or green sugar crystals

directions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Grease several baking sheets.
3. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; Set aside.
4. Using an electric mixer in a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
5. Beat in egg, vanilla and almond extracts.
6. Add the flour mixture and beat until smooth; blend in milk.
7. Drop by teaspoonful- about 3 inches apart- onto baking sheets.
8. Flatten with bottom of a glass that has been dipped in colored sugar crystals.
9. Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
10. Cool on racks.
