I used dehydrated garlic and mixed veggies. I also added a dash of hot sauce. This will be great to throw in a thermos for lunches. I look forward to experimenting with it. Thanks for sharing! Edited to add I have been making variations of this for months now. I throw any veggies, dehydrated veggies, frozen shrimp, different spices even leftover steak into a corell mug and let it sit until lunch and then heat it up. A lot healthier than our cafeteria food and delicious. The possibilities are endless.

This is a very good idea and one I'm going to try again, but next time I'll either omit the garlic or just use a sprinkle of garlic powder/salt, as the freshly grated clove just tasted way too strong and raw. I'll also use 1/2 cup less water and add some other seasonings/herbs. I would think that leftover chicken, beef, pork, etc. would also be good. Thanks for posting this, Sackville. It's a very clever recipe and I'll be having fun playing around with it.
