Gluten-free flour for use in baking & pastries. This is a recipe that I got from my local grocery store at one their cooking classes.
- 3 cups rice flour
- 3 cups tapioca flour
- 3 cups cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons potato flour (not potato starch)
- Combine all and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
I have had good results with this mix in recipes calling for this mix, but have not had good results substituting it in a non-gluten-free recipe. There are lots of recipes online that call for this mix thought. My biggest problem with this mix is that it completely lacks nutrition. There isn't any fiber or whole grain nutrition here...
This recipe gets a NO STAR. It was the worst mix ever. I made a cake last night that turned into a dense pile of garbage. I mean it's sweet but not edible. I woke up in the middle of the night completely upset that my sons birthday cake was ruined. Too dense. Deflates when taken out of the oven.
