1. The is a recipe out of Better Homes and Garden's cookbook. Make no mistake this is the way a pancake should be. Its light and fluffy. As one other person suggested, add vanilla extract to this recipe. The only reason I gave four stars is that the serving size is not right. This recipe makes about 12 pancakes with a half cup of batter.

 2. I love this Recipe, My mom first got it from an OLD cook book called Old Time Favorite Recipes. We have been eating feather pancakes since before I was born, so about 27 years. The only thing I would add to this recipe or advice is to add VANILLA and CINNAMON..... They really MAKE these pancakes! We use an Electric plug in Griddle that way we can cook more than 2 pancakes at a time, and to grease it, I either use pam or a quick glide of stick butter.

Hope this helps! Enjoy!

 3. This has been our favorite recipe for over 10 years! I have found several variations to use with it as well. I sub the sugar with brown sugar. For a lower fat alternative, you can sub applesauce for the oil all together, not a huge difference in the texture. Some variations I use:blend pecans in the dry ingredients with just a bit of cinnamon. Also, apple oven pancakes! Melt 2 T butter in a pie pan, spread 2 sliced apples over the butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and allspice. Pour the batter over the top and bake at 350 until done(about 25 minutes) Enjoy!

 4. These were easy to put together. On the advice of another reviewer, I tried them without salt and I think next time I will add half the salt called for in the recipe. Thyanks for the recipe.

 5. LOVELY TEXTURE!!! These were very fluffy and puffy! The only thing that I will do differently next time is to skip the salt all together. The amount of baking powder made the pancakes just a tad too salty. Not REALLY salty, just a bit. No one complained though! I also lightly greased my pan a bit. The batter for these pacakes was unlike any I have made before, almost like a cloud. I will be making these again.

Tweaks

 1. The original BH& G recipe also had a1/2 tsp. cream of tartar in it... I also have always added 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and a tsp. Of cardamom to it... Both add wonderful flavor!
