This is a very simple recipe I came up with to liven up some low sodium tomato juice. Everybody I have treated it to has compared it to a taste equal to V-8 but at less than half the cost.
- 1 (46 ounce) can low-sodium tomato juice
- 1 teaspoon Mrs. Dash seasoning mix
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
- Empty tomato juice of your choice in a pitcher.I use the Mrs. Dash Table Blend for the best texture. Just sprinkle over the top of the juice to completely cover , I use about a level teaspoon. You may adjust to your taste. I like things hot so I add a tablespoon of Cholula Hot Sauce. Stir well and you can drink right away, but I have found that if I put if in the refrigerator and let it set over night the seasoning really works nice with the tomato juice.
Easy and fast. Even better after it's been allowed to sit for overnight. Next time I would double the hot sauce as 1 tsp didn't add as much kick as I expected and try to find the table blend Mrs. Dash as I didn't care much for the gritty texure the regular Mrs. Dash gives the juice.
