I'm not going to rate because it is just my personal taste that I did not love this. I should have realized that the cranberry sauce would make this a sweetish dish and I don't like the combination of meat and sweetness. It was very easy to make and turned out wonderfully - just too sweet for us.

I loved this! It was exactly what I was in the mood for when I saw this recipe, and about 100 times easier than my family praakes recipe. I halved the recipe and simmered it for 40 minutes, so the cabbage remained a tad crunchy. It was delicious & flavorful as is, but I added Hungarian hot paprika at the end because I wanted a little spice, and it was fantastic. I used 1 tspn olive oil for the onions, and 4% fat ground beef. Half the recipe measured exactly 4 cups, each cup = 294 calories, 4.75 grams fat, (1.5 sat). Can’t believe this a dish I can eat while losing weight! Thank you Caryn.

This was a great twist on "cabbage rolls." I loved the addition of the cranberry sauce, would never have thought of it! It reall worked though! I baked it for about an hour at 300 and just used the ground beef as it was, didn't make the meatballs, but I may try that next time. Thanks!

Quite tasty and the recipe is simple. The taste is both very sweet and savoury - sort of like a less spicy Sauerbraten or tourtiere meat. I did not have any chilli sauce on hand so I made my own using an easy online recipe. Note: Although I reduced the amount of sugar in the sauce and cranberries, the dish was still very sweet. I also added an extra onion, a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and a few shakes of paprika. I think the extra spices added a little kick to the dish. Another thing I did was I added a nice dallop of natural yogurt (you could use sour cream) to the finished plate. I think this would also be great served over a nice fluffy bed of rice. Thank you for sharing this nice recipe!
