Fast and Easy Shrimp- Frozen and Quickly Cooked

This is a way I developed to cook a few shrimp quickly and easily right from the freezer to use in recipes calling for cooked shrimp or even when I need a quick shrimp fix, comfort food that is always perfect with butter and lemon. I have always used raw-frozen-shell on shrimp for this method


  1. Put shrimp in a microwave safe cup and cover with water (I always use my pyrex liquid measuring cup).
  2. Microwave on high for 50 seconds, let sit 50 seconds.
  3. Microwave on high 30 seconds, let sit 30 seconds.
  4. Peel and use as is or add ice to the glass to cool to room temperature for salads or dips.

This one didn't work for me. I would up with half grey, half pink shrimp even after adding extra time so eventually I dumped the whole thing in a saucepan and waited until they were evenly pink and done. Sorry.
