Fast and Easy Shrimp- Frozen and Quickly Cooked

"This is a way I developed to cook a few shrimp quickly and easily right from the freezer to use in recipes calling for cooked shrimp or even when I need a quick shrimp fix, comfort food that is always perfect with butter and lemon. I have always used raw-frozen-shell on shrimp for this method"

  • Put shrimp in a microwave safe cup and cover with water (I always use my pyrex liquid measuring cup).
  • Microwave on high for 50 seconds, let sit 50 seconds.
  • Microwave on high 30 seconds, let sit 30 seconds.
  • Peel and use as is or add ice to the glass to cool to room temperature for salads or dips.

  1. This one didn't work for me. I would up with half grey, half pink shrimp even after adding extra time so eventually I dumped the whole thing in a saucepan and waited until they were evenly pink and done. Sorry.
