Good recipe but I think it would have been better with only about half of the veggies and cheese to sprinkle on top. There was a tad too much and it overpowered the flavor of the shrimp. Also, I wish I had drained the shrimp more using paper towels to blot up more of the moisture in them as the moisture pooled. Next time, I will also save some shrimp to scatter on the top of the dish so people know what it is. People didn't know it was a shrimp dip and thought it was something more on the order of a nacho dip based on the appearance. And, since the shrimp flavor was masked by so much cheese and veggies, even then it didn't have enough shrimp flavor. Anyway, a very good recipe that with a few tweaks should be a great recipe. And a nice change from the usual shrimp dips I've had.
Terrific (as usual!). On second attempt, I added 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and replaced mozzarella with Monterrey Jack (and chopped the cheese after grating it). Green pepper definately optional - may try red next time. YUM! Thanks, Kitten.
Once again you have come to my rescue!!! Made this for a family bbq this weekend. I left out the cheese, tomato and green pepper and just mixed the other stuff together.(didn't bother to layer it) Served with Ritz crackers...EVEN THE MOTHER IN LAW LIKED IT!!!! THANKS Kittencal !!!
great dip....easy and looked great on the appetizer table
Simplicity is the key to this appetizer. It offers a lot of color and flavor for a little time spent in the kitchen. Hellman's always makes the difference : ) Thanks, Kittencal!
I have been making this for quite some time but never had a recipe to follow. I always questioned how much sour cream, how much Hellmans. And the Hellmans salad dressing does make a difference This is great and one of my favorites. I did add a bit of white cheddar cheese with the mozzarella. Thank-you Kittencal.
This is a truly great recipe - easy to make and always the first thing to go at any party I've been to.
This is absoultely the best spread with crackers. I use Miracle Whip instead of the Hellman's and it is awesome!!!
