Questions & Replies

  1. If I make this recipe before my guests arrive, how long do I heat it up for at what temperature? Has anyone prepared it in advance? Thanks

Reviews

  1. Well, I was looking forward to making this. However, it did not come out as others have said. I followed the directions exactly. Seemed a little sweet and my DH did not care for it. I love all of Kittencal's recipes but this was just not for us.

  2. Fabulous!!! Yum! Yum! Yum! When I originally saw the recipe, it sounded great. I told my husband about it, but he was less than thrilled because amaretto is not his favorite. Well I made it anyway the other night. And his response was, "This is really, really good". It was SO tasty. As my husband said, it's kind of like eating candied chicken. The flavor is like no other. I did as icecreambears did and uncovered the last 10 mins of cooking to let the sauce thicken. I also didn't have orange juice concentrate, so just used regular orange juice and it was fabulous. Thanks Kittencal! Every recipe that I've made of yours has been outstanding. I'm certainly a fan.

  4. Excellent chicken recipe. I uncovered the chicken and baked for an additioal 10 minutes. The sauce became thick and bubbly. Chicken was mouthwatering. I also only used 2 chicken breast but kept the sauce the same. Next time I will reduce the orange juice concentrate to 1/4 cup and increase amaretto to a full cup. The orange taste was stronger than the amaretto taste. Nothing wrong with that, just personal preference. Thank you Kittencal, your recipes are great!

  5. Very delicious! I made it with only two large chicken breasts but kept the sauce amounts the same. It went very well with steamed broccoli and noodles. Thanks Kittencal!

Tweaks

  1. I just finished eating this with my flatmate and I just needed to rate the recipe immediately to get the exclamation marks out of my head. Kittencal, my taste buds will never thank you enough, this was OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD-DELICIOUS!!!! I followed the recipe almost exactly (although I used fresh orange juice instead of concentrate and only three chicken breasts for two people) and served it with a simple pasta dish with herbs and eggs. The amaretto sauce caramelized in the oven and the result was nothing short of mind-boggling. The amaretto mustard mix hung to the surface of the chicken as if the bird was sweating alcohol (umm... something like that...). My flatmate is raving about it as I'm writing, I need to make this again for more people! Thank you, thank you, thank you Kittencal!

  2. This was very delicious--I did however omit the mustard and substituted some Mrs Dash spice seasoning instead. I would make it again--Its a Hubby Pleaser! 4 Stars!
