This is also an Oxford, NC recipe and makes excellent boiled dressing for chicken salad among other things. It is much better than "store bought" dressing!
- Mix together well all of the dry ingredients. Beat slightly the egg yolks and add them to the dry ingredients, then the milk, butter, and then VERY SLOWLY the vinegar. Place this mixture in a double boiler and cook over simmering water until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool. Refrigerate for up to a week or more.
