Yummy easy comfort dish! Used some diced tomatoes and bourguignon beef. Cooked for about 7 hours and the meat came out a bit dry. Would cook less next time! Thanks! :)

This stew was just okay for DH and I. I loved that it was just chop and throw into the crockpot, and the meat was certainly tender, but I thought the taste was somewhat lacking. Also, there was almost no juice for me to mix with the slurry mixture at the end, so i had to add some more broth to do so (my crockpot doesn't run hot either!). Thanks for posting chef

This was my first time making stew and I am so glad I tried this recipe. I did not feel I needed to add the cornstarch at the end, it was already the perfect consistency. I made Sweet Cornbread with it and it was delicious. Thanks for posting, we will be making this again!

This turned out great and couldn't have been easier! I tossed in a handful of frozen peas when I added the cornstarch for a little more color. Very Yummy!

This turned out really good. I doubled the potatoes and the tomatoes and also added some frozen green beans. Everyone ate it up, even my 2 year old.

This is a great stew! I didn't have time for the slow cooker, so I did it on the stove. First, I browned the beef because I prefer the richness browning adds to the sauce, then I added the rest of the ingredients except the potatoes and I added some cilantro because we love it. Simmered 2 hours, added the potatoes and simmered for about 45 minutes longer. The sauce was thick enough that the cornstarch wasn't necessary. Hearty and delicious. Perfect for a rainy winter night!

I LOVE this stew! Everything about it is YUMMY! I have made it with and without the cornstarch and I must say I think it taste much BETTER without it. I find that it gets thick enough from the startchy potatoes. I do add in a little garlic powder, an extra clove or 2 of garlic to give it a little boost and I some corn....other then that nada. This recipe is DEF. KEEPER! Thanks for this wonderful comfort food to keep us warm during the chilly months.

Excellent Stew did not add the flour original consistency was how we liked it. Will use a little less onion soup next time kinda salty. Otherwise, great flavor and so filling! Thanks

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this recipe yet, we have it all the time! We love this stew, and I've tried many different recipes. The only change is that instead of a can of whole tomatoes, I use diced tomatoes. Thank you for many many happy dinners!
