I added a can of cream of mushroom soup. This is a great stew slow cooked all day!
This was okay, but not fantastic. I did like how easy it was to make and the simple ingredients, but the taste was not great. Everyone ate their portion, but didn't want any more. I was told I don't need to make this again. So there is my family's review. Thanks for sharing anyway.
this was super easy and the results were just what i was hoping for. added some diced butternut squash, did the rest as writen.
So easy, very few ingredients (for a stew) and delish!
Excellent and easy recipe. I used diced canned tomatoes instead of whole tomatoes. Thanks for posting.
I liked this stew. However, next time I make it, I will be sure to get the seeds out of the canned whole tomatoes. I really didn't like the texture of them.
I've made a lot of stews in my time. This is my new favorite. I think it's the thickness at the end. It's JUST squishy enough...not too squishy. :)
Super easy, just throw it in the crock pot and off you go. DH doesn't really like stews, so he wasn't impressed. I, however, enjoyed it. Meat was very tender and the flavor was yummy. Missing something, I don't know what, but overall, I'll definitely hold onto it for these chilly winter nights. ETA: Made this again tonight and the flavor was fabulous. Changes: I used the Copycat Lipton Onion Soup mix recipe here on zaar. Instead of 28 oz whole tomatoes, I used what I had in my cabinet (1 can of plain diced and 1 can onion & pepper diced). Absolutely fabulous and I forgot to do the cornstarch slurry. Oh well. Served with cornbread muffins. THANKS! :)
Yummy easy comfort dish! Used some diced tomatoes and bourguignon beef. Cooked for about 7 hours and the meat came out a bit dry. Would cook less next time! Thanks! :)
This stew was just okay for DH and I. I loved that it was just chop and throw into the crockpot, and the meat was certainly tender, but I thought the taste was somewhat lacking. Also, there was almost no juice for me to mix with the slurry mixture at the end, so i had to add some more broth to do so (my crockpot doesn't run hot either!). Thanks for posting chef
