Wonderful fun and effective recipe! I used almond extract as the base. I didn't have these oils, but on the essential oils chart that accompanies the little bottles of essential oils, I found that there are substitutes for these oils and so, I used those and made this, and I LOVE it! I doubled this recipe(made one batch for gift giving) and used Rose essential oil as a substitute for Patchouli essential oil, orange essential oil as a substitute for sandalwood essential oil and an equal combo of orange and peppermint essential oils as a substitute for Ylang-Ylang oil. I feel totally uplifted, relaxed and refreshed now after using this right after my shower! Thank you a zillion times, this is great and I smell wonderful!

I burn oils all the time in my house, we're very big on aromatherapy. I was so happy to start playing with essential oils, especially since I and my oldest Dornette suffer from really dry skin. I bought a large bottle of almond base oil, and a bunch of litle jars of essential oils, and stated playing. The original recipe is very earthy, great for when you've just had your morning shower and are now ready to conquer the world. I did another batch with lavender and jasmine, perfect for just after your evening bath, when you are ready to relax in bed. Rita, you have created a monster here, I'm going to be making bottles of this stuff constantly! I'm only limited by my imagination (and bad taste).

Really excellent recipe. I made it as a substitute for L'Occitanne Elixir - you use it underneath your night cream as an extra hydration. I used 4 drops of lavender and 2 drops of orange. Wonderful stuff. I'll consider using it all over body oil too now. Thanks Rita.
