Amazing, love the sauce, not too sweet, and I added a little more lemon to give it more tang... love this recipe... thanks!
I was having a diabetic friend over for dinner - made the recipe without any sugar and it was fabulous with pork tenderloin.
I did not have apple juice so I used orange juice instead. These are very good. My husband really liked this. I did not layer just mixed everything together. I may reduce the sugar next time just a little. The baking time was perfect. Thanks for the recipe.
This was delicious! Made it for dinner tonight and there isn't much in the way of leftovers. My husband is already requesting it again. I think this would also work really well with butternut squash. (Reviewed for Fall 2009 PAC)
Yum Yum Yum! This was REALLY delicious. My hubby doesn't like sweet potato, or baked apple, so since he was out tonight, I thought I'd make this and I'm SO glad I did. It was really tasty. I didn't have allspice, so I ground some cloves, nutmeg and ginger together, which was not only fabulously tasty but gave off an amazing aroma. This was great, and quite quick to make. A good reason for hubby to go out more often, I think!! (Reviewed for Spring PAC 2007)
This was completely fabulous! After consultation on cross-Atlantic terminology with AngAustinBrody, I used sweet potatoes (which in the UK are different to yams). I used 1 tsp of cinnamon. And I have very rarely been so surprised by a recipe! To start with, the syrup was divine - like liquid stuffed apples. I'll be making this on its own to serve with the children's pancakes, or with ice cream. Then the casserole itself was amazing! I was worried about it - afraid it might be too sweet for a vegetable dish, or that the cooking time was too long. But my fears were unfounded. The end result was out of this world. I am very glad I reserve a 5* rating for something truly exceptional, rather than just very good - this recipe is excellent, and deserves to stand out from the crowd. Thank you for sharing it!
