from better homes and gardens dieters cookbook. this bread is super easy and has 90cal. per serving. is great toasted!
- 6 cups flour
- 2 (1/4 ounce) packages yeast
- 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups skim milk
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Splenda sugar substitute
- 1 teaspoon salt
- spray 2 loaf pans with cooking spray and dust with cornmeal.
- heat until warm- don't boil- the milk, water, splenda, and salt. remove from heat and add yeast. combine all ingredients. divide dough in half and put into loaf pans. sprinkle with cornmeal. cover and let rise until doubled- about 45 minute bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
Definitely easy to make. This is a dense bread, almost not a taste like a yeast bread. It was quite good to dip into soup and it was nice toasted.
