"This isn't a recipe as much as it is a solution to "I'm starving. What's for dinner?" when you walk in the door."

  • Heat pasta sauce in pan on stove; add hot meatballs.

  • This makes enough for one but is easily multiplied for the number you are feeding.

  1. Someone edited the original submission- about the 2 1/2 cups sugar. I just re-edited to have it removed.

  2. The sugar is a joke, right?

  3. I used homemade meatballs that I had in the freezer and jarred pasta sauce. So easy!

  4. I used Marc Angelo fresh meatballs. Fried them until brown & then added them to the sauce to finish cooking. Used more cheese than stated. I also toasted the sub buns & melted the cheese under the broiler. A quick easy dinner. Thanks for the idea!

  5. Just what I needed a quick dinner. I always have some frozen meatballs on hand ans a quick salad with it oven fries and it was all together with no effort in half an hour - I used ready made Taco sauce . Thanks hokiegal for posting

Tweaks

  1. ignore the sugar in this recipe. it is a mistake for sure.

  2. I love the idea of easy! I'm also making a lifestyle change; Clean Eating, which essentially just requires some extra prep work for those last minute meal grab and go moments. I make my own sauce (although I did use canned crushed/puree tomato), and just freeze it in smaller portions. I also made my own chicken meat balls. The great thing about chicken meatballs is I can always grab a couple, thaw, break them apart, and cook them up with something else.
