This is a great soup. made as posted for 4 servings but skipped the Maggi Sauce (never used it and checked on line - The sodium count is 1480 gr per tablespoon and lots of chemical ingredients - too scary for me personally. Another reviewer mentioned a smoky taste so I added a bit of snoked paprika. This had a full "earthy" taste which I loved. Thanks for posting Julie. Made for I Recommend Tag.
This soup is really, really good. I loved it! I made this in the crockpot because of time restraints and it came out perfect! I cooked it on high for about 4 hours. I only had sausage pattys so I fried and crumbled them up and dumped everything in my crockpot. I have no idea what maggi seasoning is, so I just used, salt, pepper, basil and parsley. Safe, I know... but yummy! Made for ZWT6.
Very nice soup. This is just how DH likes soup - soupy. I added the carrot, onions, celery, sausage, and potato in one step, then cooked until the potatoes were tender. Then I seasoned it. I left out the green beans because of personal preference. I found it funny (or is the joke on me?) that some of the other reviewers seemed to assume Maggi seasoning is chicken bouillon. I believer Maggi does make a bouillon, but Maggi seasoning is a flavor enhancer similar to Kitchen Bouquet. Anyway, it really "made" the soup for me, since it lent it an unusual, smoky, delicious difference. Made for ZWT #6 - ZINGO.
This sort of surprised me...for some reason I didn't have in my mind that it would come out a soup/stew. Duh! Despite my initial shock, though, I really enjoyed this. I used bouillion cubes instead of Maggi seasoning, and all in all used only about 6 cups of water. I used turkey sausage as well. I served this with sauerkraut on the side and most of us ended up adding it straight to our bowls and mixing it in. Yum! Thanks for posting! Made for ZWT 6, team Mischief Makers.
Mmmm, I liked this, it was a very comforting dish, something that would be nice on a cold winter night, but hey it summer and it's still good. I made half the recipe and I used pork smoked sausage, and I also chopped up some sage and parsley from the garden. I seasoned it with Knorr Aromat savoury seasoning which is lovely, and salt and pepper. Made for ZWT#6 2010 Thank you for posting.
this is easy and tastes good i added boulion cube but other wise pretty staight foward the beans are a nice touch zaar tour 6 sorry we havent met yet hope you had fun and i will look for you again lol deee
