From my recipe files. Different than the other Elderberry Pie recipes already on Zaar.
- 1 pint fresh elderberries (dried berries make a better pie) or 1 pint the equivalent of reconstituted dried berries (dried berries make a better pie)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon flour
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon water
- pie crust
- Make a pie crust and lay in a pie plate.
- Place washed berries on pie crust and sprinkle with other ingredients.
- Place dabs of butter on top and cover with second pie crust. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 45 minutes.
