Eggnog .... Not Just for Holidays!

"This is a light, fluffy Egg Nog drink that we serve for any occasion, not just Holidays. It's easy to make, and my friends all request it, your friends will think you are wonderful for making home-made! I recommend using Kittencal's recipe #93063 for home made vanilla, quite yummy! Can be made with or without the liquor. This is from the Company's Coming cookbook."

  1. I made this up this afternoon and gave it a quick taste before its overnight stay in the fridge. There is too much vanilla and it is too sweet for our palates. We will get through this batch but next time I will cut the vanilla and sugar by half and increase it if needed. I also used 6 cups 2% milk and 3 cups half and half.

  2. I usually buy eggnog because I am too lazy but we forgot to get it and every store was either closed or had none, so I decided to try making some. I used this recipe and was pleasantly surprised. My kids loved it (and they usually hate eggnog). I ended up having to make another batch! Oh, I added Capt. Morgan's to the adults. I'll be using this again at Christmas!

  3. Made this as non-alcoholic for one of the groups I host each month, & it disappeared so fast that I was glad I'd tasted it beforehand! ABSOLUTELY GREAT, & well worth keeping the recipe around! I plan on doing this a handful of times during the coming winter holidays! Thanks for sharing your great recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed in the Aus/NZ Recipe Swap #20]

  4. This was good. But I think we were missing something because we didn't put in the alcohol. It was fairly "milk-y" and not much egg flavour. Good if you like it that way. I served it to three kids and only one liked it a lot. Thanks! We enjoyed making it.

  5. This is really good, I used 9 cups of milk then added 300mls of whipping cream. I added 1 1/2 cups of brandy and have now found my favourite flavoured milkshake! I grew up with egg nog but its not common here in New Zealand (in fact Ive never seen it in the supermarkets) my husband and son both like it and it will be 'tested' on the rest of the family later today! Thanks for sharing.
