my 12 year old daughter decided she wanted to make scones for breakfast so i got this recipe for her to try out. they turned out awesome!!!! so the next day she decided to make them with cheese and omitted the sugar and again turned out awesome! very good recipe for a beginner cook! and i myself will use this recipe for biscuits and scones as well.

I have to agree that it was not the most flavorful thing I've eaten, but it was good nonetheless. I was very moist. I added about 1/2 cup of cheese and my daughter loved it. I didn't get the consistency of dough that I could knead, so after mixing I used a large cookie scoop and dropped it onto a cookie sheet and it spread a bit. I also made two in cupcake cups.

ok if you enjoy eating a flavorless piece of pie. the only taste comes from sugar.

This recipe was EASY! I've never made scones before and I had no trouble with this, even using a fork to cut butter instead of a pastry cutter. I added a teaspoon of vanilla and 2 tsps of cinnamon to add flavor and I think they're delicious without being overly-sweet. Perfect to go with your coffee or tea!
