Great balance ... Nice topping but apples are still the star. Quick to prepare and you probably have the staples in your pantry already.
I've made this twice in the last three days. I need to double the recipe next time because it's so yummy! I think the nutmeg really makes the crisp.
Very very easy and very yummy! Honeycrisp apples and homemade sweetened whipped cream pushed it over the top. Thanks for posting!
Sweet enough but not too sweet and the perfect amount of oats! Whole family loves it.
This is an amazing recipe! I also doubled all the ingredients so it would fill up a 9x13 pan. I used a combination of Granny Smith, Braeburn and Pippen apples and it was really good. I made it for Thanksgiving dinner and everyone raved about it. This recipe is a keeper!!! Thanks for sharing 1Steve!!
Made this exactly as posted including the English custard on top, very good - this is the first time I've ever "made" a crumble but not the first I've ever "eaten" one and with all the apples from the orchard decided it was time to make my own. This was so good with the flavor of the tart apples and the crunchy topping, YUM; the only thing I had a problem with and I'm pretty sure it was me - is that parts of the topping was still dry, thinking I should have added more butter to it or something. But the flavors, oh my!! Used A Very Proper English Custard for the cream which was a new experience (in a good way) for me - thinking it'd also be so good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
I didn't have any nutmeg.... but it was very good!
I know after 300 reviews you are just dying to read mine LOL......but I just HAD to say thank you for a superb crisp......I have searched far and wide for a topping we love and this is it! It was the perfect combo.......I made this one as directed w/the granny smiths but looking forward to trying others apples and even peaches! This southern bee is buzzing, I'm the hit of the hive :). Thanks again
So simple and delicious. The girls flied thru their bowls and looked at me like lost puppies. <br/>Thanks for the recipe.
