This recipe turned out really well. I used veggie broth instead of water, and reduced the soy sauce to 1 T. because my broth was salted. The gravy was still a little on the salty side, but tasty. I also added some dried sage, thyme and parsley.
Good gravy!! Really, good, easy gravy!! I used 1 clove of garlic and one tablespoon of soy sauce. I know I'll be making this again and again. Thanks so much for posting the keeper recipe.
Wonderful gravy. Used olive oil instead of margarine. Only real problem is the recipe said it would make two cups -I wasn't looking too closely and didn't realize until I already started that one cup of water isn't going to make two cups of gravy and I ended up with much less than I was counting on. Oh well -guess I'll have to double it next time. This is a nice recipe though because it uses ingredients I keep around.
DO NOT use MARGERINE! It contains partially hydrogenated oil. Use butter! Also, use only ONE garlic clove unless you want a GARLIC gravy. Also, use low sodium soy sauce.Make those adjustments and you could have something...but again, use a small clove or 1/2 of a big one.
This is incredible. Better than any meat gravy I've ever had. I used Bragg Liquid Amino Acids instead of soy sauce and added a little fresh sage. Amazingly delicious!!!
Delicious, easy, and quick. Tastes amazing on tofu turk'y roasts :) and mashed potatoes and biscuits and even by itself! Perfect for the holidays, love it. The only alteration I made was adding a bit of garlic powder(along with the cloves) and a bit more water than soy sauce. But that's really only cuz I'm not a big soy sauce fan haha :) it defiantly added to the flavor though. I will definitely be using this from now on :)
I wanted a quick gravy recipe for some mashed potatoes I made and came across this one. The only change I made was to add diced portobello mushrooms at the very end to make it into a mushroom gravy. It's so good!!
