This sauce cooks quickly, and can be used for ice cream, or for a dip for fruits and cookies.

  1. In a saucepan, combine ¾ cup water, butter, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, and remove from heat.
  2. In a small cup, mix together cornstarch and remaining water. Stir mixture into sauce. Cook over medium heat and heat through for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Serve hot.
