Lucious swiss steak!! I made this with sirloin steak and browned them before putting them in the oven. Then made homemade mashed potatoes to serve along side the steak. The gravy on the steak is delicious! A very easy dish to make. Had green beans and salad, wonderful meal. Will make again! Thanks Terri F!!!

Really really good. If a novice like me can put this together and have it come out tasting like a meal I spent hours on, then anyone can do it. This is the first recipe I tried. It was very simple, the directions were very easy, and it tasted excellent. Thank you for this.

This is for sure a 5 star. Meat was tender as can be. Gravy tasty. Easy prep and oven time is no worry to check it. Potatoes on top was great..I used garlic flavored potatoes. We ate so much of it I was worried about having some the next day. I just think this is just a great recipe. Thank You

This is well worth the five stars, not only for taste but also for how easy it is. I guess that's how it got it's name. My whole family loved this and that doesn't happen too often. It even got the seal of approval from my six year-old. My husband actually went back for thirds. The only change I made was to peel and dice 4 medium potatoes and add them and I put it in a 9x13 glass baking dish. I cooked it for 3 hours on 300 degrees F. It probably would have been done sooner, but I cooked it while I did my afternoon schoolbus run. The house smelled soooo good when we walked in. Thank you Terri F. This will be a regular from now on in our house.

This is a tasty dish that you can just throw together and toss it in the oven. It takes care of itself for a couple hours and dinner is ready. We will have again.

we enjoyed this Swiss steak, but found it more like a stew. I used some home made gravy I had in the freezer and added some rutabega sticks with the carrots. I had left over parselied potatoes from the day before so I just place them on top instead of the mashed potatoes topping.

Good comfort food. I floured and browned the steak first. Also added some sauteed mushrooms, red wine and salt. Didn't make the potato topping.

This was an excellent recipe. It was quick and easy. In lieu of the boxed potatoes, I prepared mashed potatoes from scratch. Likewise, the gravy was also from scratch. I tend to avoid store bought products because of the high sodium content they all seem to have. Great food!

This was an easy and VERY tasty dish. I added some chopped celery and fresh mushrooms to the recipe. In addition, I added about 1/2 cup of red wine. Thank you for posting; I'll make this again!

Made this last night and it was soooo good :) I used boneless blade steak, baby whole carrots and seared both sides of the steak in garlic in oil first. Mixed up two pkgs. of brown gravy mix and it worked out except I had to thicken the gravy after it was done by scooping out the juices into another pot. Because of the whole baby carrots, had to bake an extra half hour. I will be making this again..

I made this the other night for dinner. I wasn't sure my fiance would like it because he is not a big cube steak fan. Despite that, he loved it. He said it had a really good taste. I halved the recipe successfully and used a can of diced tomatoes that had celery, garlic and onion already in it. Even so, I added the fresh onions and carrots. Thanks for posting.
