I love the streusel to this cake while the cake itself is light and fluffy and sweet on it's own the streusel bakes to a crunchy sweet topping and it's really delicious. This was made for PAC Fall 2009. Thanks for sharing!
This seems to be really good! I've just finished baking 2 batches of this recipe.. and it smells delicious all over the house... I bet the neighbors would be craving! LOL. Well I'll update once we taste them. One is for my FIL, for fathers day.. he loves coffee so what better than a coffee cake for the morning right? will see.. Ohh and I agree with Susie, what i liked most was i have everything on hand! Thanks Nicoleg!
Wonderful Coffee Cake! Very easy to make and assemble. Had all the ingredients on hand. Taste was lightly sweet (and I added more cinnamon then called for). And I added more brown sugar in the topping. I think it's a good 'base' recipie...you could add nuts, fruit, and use it to make other types of coffee cakes. Goes great with fruit for breakfast. I used a 9in casserole dish...which has deep sides...that came in handy because this cake rises a good bit. Was able to put lid on it and leave on table overnight....breakfast in the am...wonderful :)
This was so easy and delicious - I love recipes on Zaar that have the basic ingredients that are handy in most pantrys. My DD was visiting and she loved it also. Mine did take about 30 min - but all ovens are different and oh yeah I used an 8 x 8 glass square so that may have contributed to the extra time.
Nichole, I made this cake tonight and it was simple like you said and very good. I added some chopped pecans to the streusel mixture and it turned out well. Thanks, for an easy and good coffee cake. Bjtaillights
