- 2 cups unbleached flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 cup chocolate chips (or dried fruit)
- 1 1⁄4 cups whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in bowl. Add the chocolate chips (or optional ingredient, such as dried fruit).
- Stir in the cream with a fork until dough holds together in a sticky mass (you may need to add a tablespoon or more of cream until dough holds together).
- Turn dough out on a highly floured board. Knead several times.
- Pat dough into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges (or other shape as desired).
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
- Brush dough with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
