My great grandmother, Nana, loved sauerkraut. And given her German heritage, I always assumed it was something she put a lot of work into making. But it seems she was into shortcuts in the kitchen, too.
- Sauté onion in grease or butter until limp.
- Add Sauerkraut and sugar.
- Cook until flavors have blended and dish is hot.
