I use a packaged gravy mix when I make this chowder, but you can use your own white sauce or gravy for this and it will work just fine. I used to make sausage gravy and then fix this chowder too! It's delicious on a cold winter day and it also freezes nicely for when you want to double or triple the batch and make a large pot to feed a crowd.
- 473.18 ml country cream gravy
- 425.24 g can whole kernel corn
- 425.24 g can creamed corn
- 59.14 ml minced onion
- 4 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled, plus drippings
- Stir all ingredients together.
- serve hot.
I have made a soup very similar to this one... although it tastes even better if you add some chopped potatoes to the mix.
We love this chowder! I substituted ready cooked bacon and frozen corn for the whole kernel corn. It is quick, easy and delicious!
This is a very good chowder making it was easy I added some tyme about a teaspoon. My family enjoyed it.
