"I got this recipe from an old church cookbook I found. It has never made sense to me because it does not call for flour but I have used it several times and it works."

  1. This recipe needs a little clarification, it doesn't say what type of sugar (brown? white?) So I used white sugar and chunky peanut butter. The batter seemed very wet still and I couldn't really roll them into one inch balls. Tasted delicious but overdone after 10 minutes.

  2. Great, simple cookies! We enjoyed the addition of the vanilla - it adds a nice hint to each cookie. Thanks for sharing! PAC Spring '11

  3. I make this flourless cookies all the time, except I don't use any butter. I use 1 tsp. of vanilla. This cookies are awesopme! Never tried them with butter. They are good without it.

  4. I love these cookies. The recipe is from the depression.I add a splash of Vanilla and can never bake them longer than 10 min.I also dip a fork in sugar to flatten. Thanks for posting it.

  5. This recipe needs more complete directions for the novice bakers and that's why it gets just four stars. I form the cookies into 1" balls, press once with a fork before baking. Also, a flavorful peanut butter like JIF works well for these cookies. Thanks for posting.
